It’s a massive day for second-generation K-Pop fans! The legendary members of SS501 are proving that class is permanent as they gear up for a special 20th-anniversary release.
Members Kim Hyung Jun, Heo Young Saeng, and Kim Kyu Jong have united under the unit name FIVE O ONE to deliver a nostalgic gift to their loyal fandom, Triple S. According to an announcement from their agency, HENECIA, on March 3rd, the trio will officially release their new album, titled ‘Set It Off’, on March 7th at 12 PM KST.
This release is particularly meaningful as it commemorates two full decades since the group first hit the scene. The album is set to feature the title track of the same name, alongside songs that were exclusively pre-released during their recent 20th-anniversary concert series.
In a statement regarding the comeback, HENECIA highlighted the group’s longevity and bond, stating, “This album showcases the present state of the team, stronger and more solid after 20 years together.”
The unit has been actively connecting with fans globally, having successfully wrapped up a 20th-anniversary world tour last year. The tour kicked off in Seoul and made stops in major Asian entertainment hubs including Tokyo, Osaka, and Hong Kong.
Originally debuting in 2005, SS501 stands as one of the pillars of the original Hallyu Wave, dominating the charts in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Their return as FIVE O ONE marks a celebration of an enduring legacy that continues to influence the K-Pop industry today.
