Trot sensation Sook Haeng is stepping down from her role on MBN’s acclaimed show, ‘THE BEST K-Trot SINGER.’ The decision comes amidst a storm of allegations accusing her of involvement in an extramarital affair. On December 30, Sook Haeng addressed the controversy with a handwritten apology on Instagram, expressing deep regret for the personal matter that has come to light.
Sook Haeng emphasized her commitment to shielding the program from harm, saying, “I will step down from the program so that it does not suffer any additional damage.” She extended her apologies to fellow contestants and the dedicated production staff, vowing to return with increased responsibility after reflecting on her actions.

The uproar erupted on December 29, when JTBC’s investigative show, ‘Crime Chief,’ aired claims from a woman who alleged her spouse engaged in an affair with the esteemed singer. This woman claimed her husband abandoned their family, leaving her and their two adolescent children.

Despite these allegations, both the accused husband and Sook Haeng have maintained their standpoint of being “just friends.” CCTV footage, however, allegedly displayed the pair in intimate situations, hinting at a deeper relationship.

Through official channels, Sook Haeng neither confirmed nor denied her role as an alleged “other woman.” Instead, she stated, “All facts will be clarified through proper legal procedures.” She urged the public and media to halt the spread of unverified claims to avoid unnecessary harm to all parties involved.

In a further twist, Sook Haeng explained to ‘Crime Chief’ that she was misled into believing the man’s marriage was over, citing assurances about divorce agreements. Upon discovering the truth, she claimed to have ended the relationship and personally apologized to the wife. Sook Haeng plans to address these allegations legally and announced the appointment of a legal representative to pursue comprehensive action, including potential lawsuits for damages caused by the perceived deception.
