The legal drama that has captivated the K-Pop industry is heading for another explosive chapter. Min Hee Jin, identified as the CEO of ooak Records, is stepping back into the spotlight to address the public directly following her significant courtroom victory against entertainment giant HYBE.
According to an announcement from ooak Records on February 25 KST, Min Hee Jin is scheduled to hold a press conference at 1:45 PM KST today in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The event is poised to be a pivotal moment in the ongoing saga, as the CEO plans to articulate her position regarding the recent first trial ruling and outline her strategic roadmap for the future.
The press conference follows a major legal win for Min. On February 12, the Seoul Central District Court ruled in her favor, dismissing HYBE’s lawsuit that sought to confirm the termination of their shareholder agreement. In a significant blow to the corporation, the court not only ordered HYBE to cover legal costs but also validated Min Hee Jin’s put option, ordering a payout of approximately 25.5 billion KRW (approximately 18 million USD).
However, the conflict is far from resolved. Refusing to accept the initial verdict, HYBE filed an appeal on the 19th. Additionally, the company successfully applied for a "stay of execution," effectively suspending the enforcement of the 25.5 billion KRW payment until the appeal process concludes.
With the legal battle now confirmed to be moving to a second trial, industry insiders and fans alike are focused on Jongno-gu to see what message Min Hee Jin will deliver and how she plans to navigate the next phase of this high-profile corporate dispute.
