The queens are back, and they are reclaiming their throne with absolute authority.
BLACKPINK has officially achieved a “Triple Crown” on the Circle Chart with their long-awaited third mini-album, DEADLINE. Following an explosive debut on the Hanteo Chart earlier this week, the global superstars have now swept the Circle Chart rankings, proving that their three-year hiatus only fueled the public’s hunger for their music.
According to the Circle Chart, which is operated by the Korea Music Content Association, DEADLINE secured the No. 1 spot on the Album Chart for Week 9. Remarkably, the album racked up a staggering 1,750,692 copies sold. What makes this feat even more impressive is that this figure reflects only about a day and a half of tracking, as the album was released late in the week on February 27.
Beyond physical sales, the group also topped the Retail Album Chart and the Social Chart 3.0, effectively completing a Triple Crown. This comeback marks BLACKPINK’s first full group release in approximately three years and five months, yet their momentum hasn’t slowed a bit.
YG Entertainment previously revealed that global demand for the physical album vastly exceeded initial production estimates, leading to urgent additional production. Data from the Hanteo Chart corroborates this frenzy, noting that DEADLINE sold 1.46 million copies on its very first day—setting a new all-time record for first-day sales by a female K-pop artist.
The new mini-album is said to capture the group’s “greatest, irreversible moments” and features five tracks: the high-energy title track “GO“, along with “JUMP”, “Me and my”, “Champion”, and “Fxxxboy”.
International critics are just as impressed as the fans. Rolling Stone praised the release, stating that “BLACKPINK has returned at the peak of their powers,” noting how the members’ individualities shine within the group’s confident identity. Similarly, Billboard highlighted the title track “GO” as a song that perfectly represents the group’s musical essence.
