A New Chapter This release marks a significant milestone, coming seven years after her debut with ITZY. Yuna will become the second member of the group to launch a solo career, following Yeji. The agency teased that fans can expect a fresh musical identity distinct from her group persona.

Acting & Group Activities Yuna is also expanding her career as an actress. She is set to appear in the drama Undercover Miss Hong, premiering on January 17, and has been cast in the upcoming project Favorite Employee.

Meanwhile, ITZY continues to power through their schedule. The group will meet fans in Seoul for their world tour concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium from February 13 to 15.

Korean Cinema Legend Ahn Sung-ki Passes Away at 74

Veteran actor Ahn Sung-ki has passed away peacefully at the age of 74, surrounded by his family.

The Tragic Circumstances According to his agency, Artist Company, the actor passed away on the morning of January 5 at 9 AM KST. His passing follows a critical incident on December 30, when he collapsed from cardiac arrest after choking on food. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) but sadly never regained consciousness.

Upon hearing of his critical condition, his eldest son, Ahn Da-bin, urgently returned from overseas on January 2 to remain by his father’s side until the end.

A Battle Fought with Grace Ahn Sung-ki had been battling blood cancer since his diagnosis in 2019. Although he briefly achieved remission, the cancer recurred, requiring further treatment. Despite his health struggles, he remained a beloved public figure, attending various events—including the Beautiful Artist Awards and the Golden Cinematography Awards—with his signature warm smile.

A “Film Industry Funeral” To honor his immense contribution to Korean cinema, his funeral will be conducted as a special “Film Industry Funeral,” jointly organized by the Shin Young Kyun Arts and Culture Foundation and the Korean Film Actors Association.

Pallbearers: Fellow stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung will carry the casket.

BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) is starting 2026 with a major artistic endeavor. On December 31, BigHit Music announced the release of a new photobook titled “TYPE 非”, alongside a special exhibition called “V TYPE 非 : ON-SITE IN SEOUL.”

The 278-page hardcover photobook is described as a deeply personal project, with V involved in every stage from planning to photography. The concept revolves around “non-fixity” and defies categorization, featuring 20 chapters that flow as a continuous narrative to showcase V’s fluid artistic persona. A separate poster set featuring seven unique images is also available for purchase.

To celebrate the release, an immersive exhibition will be held at Frieze House Seoul for approximately two weeks in January. The exhibition aims to translate the photobook’s themes into a spatial experience, utilizing media art and varying atmospheres that mimic the flow of the book’s chapters.
