The wait is finally over for fans of Lee Na Young!

After a three-year hiatus following her role in One Day Off (2023), the acclaimed actress is making her highly anticipated return to the small screen in the upcoming mystery legal drama “Honor.”

On January 26, the cast and crew gathered for a press conference at The Saint Grand Ballroom in Seoul to introduce the series. Honor promises to be a gripping female-led thriller, centering on three lawyers at the specialized firm “L&J” (Listen & Join). The firm is dedicated to representing victims of sexual crimes, but the protagonists find themselves confronting a haunting past that resurfaces as a massive scandal.

Lee Na Young takes on the role of Yoon Ra Young, the firm’s public face. While Yoon appears to be a glamorous celebrity lawyer on the outside, she hides deep emotional wounds beneath the surface. Lee described her character’s resilience, stating, “She confronts those scars and endures them while boldly throwing herself into the work she believes she must do.”

When asked why she chose this specific project for her comeback, Lee compared the script to a page-turner. “It read like a mystery novel that I couldn’t put down,” she revealed, praising the raw and layered dialogue that immediately pulled her in.

The drama also features a powerhouse lineup including Jung Eun Chae and Lee Chung Ah. Lee Na Young expressed confidence in director Park Gun Ho and shared her excitement about the chemistry with her co-stars. “At first, our pairing might seem unexpected, but that sense of contrast felt fresh and intriguing,” she noted. “Even I was curious to see how it would look on screen.”

Mark your calendars! “Honor” is set to premiere on February 2.

Actress Arden Cho is standing firmly by her close friend and colleague, Cha Eun Woo, amidst one of the most significant financial controversies to hit the Korean entertainment industry.

Known for her role in the Netflix animation K-Pop Demon Hunters, Cho took to Instagram to leave a public message of encouragement for the star. Under Cha Eun Woo’s recent statement addressing the allegations, she wrote, “Always supporting you dongseng, Hwaiting!” using the affectionate Korean term for a younger sibling-figure to show her solidarity.

The public display of loyalty comes at a turbulent time for the ASTRO member and actor. Cha Eun Woo is currently facing serious allegations from the Seoul Regional Tax Office regarding approximately 20 billion KRW (approx. 13.8 million USD) in unpaid taxes. Authorities allege that he and his mother utilized a paper company to apply a corporate tax rate, attempting to reduce their tax liabilities by roughly 45%.

On January 26, Cha Eun Woo broke his silence from the military to address the rumors directly. He vehemently denied that his enlistment was an attempt to flee the investigation. “I am reflecting deeply on whether my approach to fulfilling my tax obligations has been sufficiently strict,” he stated. “Although I am currently serving in the military, my enlistment was not intended to avoid this controversy. Last year, I reached a point where I could no longer postpone my enlistment.”

He further added that if he were not currently serving, he would personally apologize to everyone affected. Meanwhile, his agency, Fantagio, has pushed back, stating that the investigation is not finalized and the dispute centers on whether the family’s company qualifies as a substantive tax entity. The reported 20 billion KRW assessment is currently cited as the largest amount ever involved in a Korean entertainment tax investigation.

Actress Cha Joo Young will be taking a temporary break from her acting career to focus on recovering from a necessary medical procedure.

On January 25, 2026, her label Ghost Studio announced the news, revealing that the actress has been battling chronic health issues. Following recent medical examinations, doctors advised that surgery was required and could no longer be delayed.

A new era of K-Pop super rookies has officially begun. ALPHA DRIVE ONE, the group formed from the survival show Boys II Planet, has achieved a historic milestone that hasn’t been touched by a boy group in nearly a decade.

In a stunning display of momentum, the group secured a "Grand Slam" on South Korea’s three major public broadcasting music programs. With their debut track "FREAK ALARM," the group took home the #1 trophy on KBS’s Music Bank, MBC’s Show! Music Core, and SBS’s Inkigayo consecutively.

This achievement is significant; it marks the first time in nine years that a rookie boy group has swept all three public broadcast wins with a debut song. The last boy group to achieve this was the legendary Wanna One. In the broader K-Pop landscape, the only other recent act to manage this feat was NewJeans in 2022.

The record-breaking run has sparked heated debates across online communities. ALPHA DRIVE ONE secured their wins against major established acts like ENHYPEN, EXO, ILLIT, and WOODZ.

  • "It’s surprising that ZB1 didn’t manage this with ‘In Bloom,’ but ALD1 did it."
