143 Entertainment Confirms Suspension of Yeseo and Suhye; MADEIN to Promote as Four

On December 26, 143 Entertainment released an official statement announcing that members Yeseo and Suhye have suspended their activities with the group MADEIN.

Effective immediately, the group will reorganize as a four-member unit consisting of Mashiro, MiU, Serina, and Nagomi for the time being. The agency pledged “unwavering support” to stabilize the group’s future promotions during this transition.

The statement also addressed the ongoing controversy involving the agency’s former CEO. 143 Entertainment clarified that they are awaiting the final results of an investigation regarding the former executive and vowed to “take responsibility” based on the findings. They also emphasized their intent to hold accountable those who have caused significant harm to the group.

The legal proceedings against former idol Taeil have officially concluded with a finalized prison sentence. On December 26, South Korea’s Supreme Court rejected all appeals filed by the defendant and his two accomplices, upholding the lower courts’ rulings regarding charges of aggravated sexual assault under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

As a result of the confirmed verdict, Taeil will serve a mandatory prison term of three years and six months. In addition to incarceration, the court has ordered him to complete a 40-hour sexual-offender treatment program. He is also subject to a five-year employment ban, which legally prohibits him from working at any facilities involving children, adolescents, or individuals with disabilities.

In delivering its final decision, the Supreme Court emphasized the gravity of the offense, describing the nature of the crime as “severely serious.” The ruling explicitly noted that the victim was in a state where resistance was impossible at the time of the assault, a critical factor that led the judiciary to maintain the strict sentence without leniency.
