Former fromis_9 member Lee Seo Yeon has officially joined H1GHR MUSIC RECORDS, marking a fresh chapter as a solo artist.

According to a July 23 report from IZE, Lee signed an exclusive contract with the hip-hop and R&B label after leaving PLEDIS Entertainment in December 2023. Known for its genre-focused artistry, H1GHR MUSIC is home to acts like BIG Naughty, pH-1, Lil Boi, and Woodie Gochild, and was named “Label/Crew of the Year” at the 2021 Korean Hip-hop Awards.

Now backed by a respected label, Lee Seo Yeon is preparing to make her solo debut with a new sound and direction.

Paramount Pictures has officially revealed a new untitled K-pop-themed film in partnership with HYBE America, with Ji Young Yoo (K-Pop Demon Hunters) and Eric Nam set to star.

Slated for a theatrical release in February 2027, the film will be directed by Benson Lee (Seoul Searching) and marks the first major Hollywood production to be filmed entirely in South Korea.

The story centers on a young Korean-American woman who defies her family’s expectations to join a televised competition, hoping to debut in the next global K-pop girl group.

The latest script was written by Eileen Shim, following earlier drafts by Crazy Rich Asians screenwriter Adele Lim.
